Arsenal have been able to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, despite being unable to include Olivier Giroud in the deal, according to reports.
Arsenal’s French striker had been linked with a switch to Germany, most probably on loan, to help smooth the transfer of Aubameyang to Arsenal.

However, Giroud would rather join Chelsea. That’s according to Germany publication Kicker, who report that Borussia Dortmund are now looking to sign French striker Anthony Modeste as a replacement for Aubameyang instead.
But despite Giroud not wanting to join Dortmund, Arsenal have still been able to agree a fee for Aubameyang. It’s claimed that a deal has been agreed at £55million after days of talks between the clubs. Arsene Wenger must decide whether to let Giroud go if Aubameyang arrives, Aubameyang was in action for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday but failed to score and was widely booed by supporters. He’s scored 13 times in 16 Bundesliga outings this season.
His arrival at the Emirates could see the Gunners agree to let Giroud depart with the striker desperate for minutes ahead of the World Cup. Chelsea are seeking a new forward and have been linked with the 31-year-old who is keen to stay in London. The transfer window closes at 11pm on Wednesday.
