Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal‘s interest in Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and says a deal for the Gabon international is ‘possible’ in the next eight days.
The Gunners completed a move for Manchester United playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan last night with Alexis Sanchez moving in the opposite direction. However, the Gunners are still active in the market and Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis was in Germany on Monday to negotiate a deal for Aubameyang.
Talks ended without an agreement being reached but Wenger confirmed today that a deal for the former AC Milan ace is ‘possible’.
‘That was him maybe – standing on the line?’ joked Wenger, when a microphone screeched after a question about the deal. ‘Confident? I don’t know. At the moment we are not close to doing any deals with him or anybody else. ‘You never know how close you are.

‘You never know how close you are, this is the kind of thing at the moment. ‘But we have other things in minds, plenty of opportunities in different positions. Final decision is not made.’
