Manchester United set to announce 25-year-old as first signing of January window

Manchester United have been on the lookout for some attacking talent in the January transfer window and now latest reports from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte claim that the Red Devils have managed to seal the deal for out of favour PSG winger Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian star was also linked with a move back to his childhood club of Sao Paolo, but the Premier League giants willingness to pay close to £30 million has seen the tide turn in their favour.

Blessed with immense potential, Lucas Moura could certainly add an extra dimension to the slightly jaded Manchester United attack.

In case you didn’t know

Once considered to be one of the most promising talents in world football, Lucas has struggled to get opportunities and regular playing time in a team consisting of the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria and Julian Draxler.

Having played only 72 minutes this season, the Brazilian is keen on a move to the Premier League and the move looks very likely to be completed in the coming few days.

The heart of the matter

PSG need to sell some players so as to not fall foul of UEFA’s financial fair play rule and it seems like manager Unai Emery has given the green light to sell the talented Brazilian star. Capable of playing on either side of the pitch, Moura will also bring versatility, pace, and dynamism to the Manchester United attack.

The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the Brazilian and with Mourinho not hesitating to spend close to £30 million to secure his services, the 25-year-old is all set to light up Old Trafford in the coming days.

Struggling to get regular playing time at PSG, it is high time that the 25-year-old star made a move to reinvigorate his career. Still supremely talented and yet to reach full potential, the Brazilian might just burst into life under the astute guidance of Jose Mourinho.

Lucas Moura is certainly a gamble worth taking for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho.
