Alexis Sanchez has completed his move to Manchester United.
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in a player swap deal that also sees Henrikh Mkhitaryan join the north London club
The Chilean, whose contract with the Gunners was due to expire in the summer, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Red Devils that makes him the highest paid player in the Premier League.

For a long time Sanchez had been expected to join Manchester City, but the league leaders could not agree a fee with Arsenal and were blown away by United’s salary offer and signing-on fee.

who will wear the iconic No.7 shirt, is believed to be earning £14m a year after tax at Old Trafford – or just under £300k-a-week – and also receives a £20m signing-on fee, with his agent banking £10m. Mkhitaryan’s move in the opposite direction values the Armenian at £30m, roughly the amount United paid to Borussia Dortmund in 2016, and ends an unspectacular 18 months at the club. Sanchez enjoyed three-and-a-half productive seasons at Arsenal after leaving Barca.

Mourinho speaks out after Alexis Sanchez completes Man Utd transfer The complicated swap deal took longer than expected to complete, with Sanchez only arriving in Manchester on Sunday to undergo a medical at Carrington, and then needed to reapply for his work permit on Monday. But he is now in line to make his United debut against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on Friday, while his first Premier League appearance for his new club will come just a few days later against his old north London rivals Tottenham.
In order to secure Sanchez’s signature, United sacrificed Mkhitaryan to Arsenal Sanchez scored 60 goals in 122 Premier League appearances for Arsenal following his move from Barcelona in 2014 and was named the club’s Player of the Season in two of his three campaigns at the Emirates. He won two FA Cups and the Community Shield with Arsenal but grew disillusioned after they failed to qualify for the Champions League last season – a competition he is eligible to play in for United.
