Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal is ‘imminent’, according to reports in Germany.

Dortmund will take on Hertha Berlin without their star striker, with Sky Germany claiming Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal is now ‘imminent’.

The deal to bring Aubameyang to the Emirates will be worth £53million and Arsenal will be buying a frontman who has scored 141 goals in 212 appearances for Dortmund.

Aubameyang will replace the exit-bound Alexis Sanchez and will overtake future strike partner Alexandre Lacazette as the club’s record signing. Arsenal have been showing strong interest in Aubameyang in recent weeks and have convinced the 28-year-old to reject a lucrative move to China. The clubs have been in talks for several weeks, but Dortmund hit out at Arsene Wenger when the Arsenal boss spoke about Aubameyang in his press conference on Thursday.

Dortmund chief Michael Zorc said: ‘We find it disrespectful to speak about players of other clubs. ‘There is no contact with Arsenal. We assumed that Arsene Wenger would have enough to do to take care of the performances of his own players.’ Wenger refused to confirm whether Arsenal were in fact chasing Aubameyang, but insisted the club were not ‘close’ to signing anyone other than Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
